Program aims to improve student’s emotional well-being and address the youth mental health crisis exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic and its aftermath
The Share for Life Foundation (Share 4 Life or S4L), in partnership with the Queens District Attorney’s Office, is proud to announce the successful conclusion of the “Power of Positive Thinking” workshop series at Astoria Houses HANAC Center. The program teaches strategies to reframe negative thoughts and use tools such as mindful breathing, vision boards, and personal mission statements, to face life’s challenges with resilience and self-confidence. The program began in March and concluded in June 2023, it met twice a week for 2 hour workshop sessions.
This program offered a series of workshops, seminars, and interactive sessions designed to equip participants with valuable tools to enhance their mental and emotional well-being. The workshops leverage film and media, as participants were encouraged to channel this enriched perspective into the creation of compelling short films. The visual narratives depicted students real-world examples and practical techniques to foster optimism, resilience, and a growth mindset.
“We believe that a positive mindset can be a catalyst for change, helping individuals overcome challenges and create brighter futures for themselves and their community. We are excited to bring this program to the Astoria Houses in partnership with the Queens District Attorney’s Office.”
